The University has five networks providing a voice for University employees to engage with and consult on EDI-related matters. Members have an opportunity to put forward their views, at a time and in a way that influences the process of making decisions and help develop effective solutions.

The networks have helped to drive equity and inclusivity; some examples include:

Input into policies via the University’s Equality Impact Assessment process such as influencing family-friendly policies.

Improvements to the academic calendar.

Supporting the organisation with the development of resources and guidance to support employees with protected characteristics and their line managers.

Participation in the DWP’s Disability Confident submission, AHE’s Athena Swan and Race Equality Charters.

Organising annual events and activities to recognise the achievements of marginalised groups and progress equity for all.
