Delroy Creary is a Senior Laboratory Technician in Engineering and Technology at Manchester Metropolitan University.
Born in Manchester and brought up in the Moss Side district of the city, he played school boy football for Stoke City then semi-professional for Droyslden FC, Chorlton Town FC and Curzon Ashton FC to name but a few, served in the Royal Navy as a Radio Operator.
Delroy studied for his Business and Management degree at Manchester Metropolitan University graduating in 2006.
Delroy has been an active member of his trade union for many years: UNISON national member on the Kick out Racism in Football campaign and subsequent launch of the campaign in secondary schools within the UK and the regional Northwest Chair of UNISON Black Members committee. Delroy is currently the Branch Secretary of the UNISON MMU Branch and an elected member on UNISON regional committee.
Delroy has been involved over many years in the public sector in promoting equality among disadvantaged groups. Delroy is committed to equality in all areas within society and has undertaken work on community cohesion.
Delroy trains three times a week as part of his fitness regime. He is also a Lancashire cricket supporter and a lifelong Manchester City supporter.
He is the elected support staff representative on the Board of Governors and also serves on the Audit committee.
