Geoff commenced his career in the construction industry prior to joining Manchester Airport plc in 1988 as Director of Development. He was appointed Chief Executive of Manchester Airport plc in 1994 and more recently, Group Chief Executive of The Manchester Airport Group plc with effect from 2001.

He was awarded the CBE in the Queens New Years Honours list in 2004, adding to his significant other personal achievements, which include honorary doctorates from the University of Salford and Manchester Metropolitan University and a former CBE Business Executive of the Year. Additionally, Geoff holds fellowships with the Institute of Civil Engineers, Chartered Institute of Transport, Royal Society of Arts and Royal Aeronautical Society.

Geoff holds a number of external appointments and is on the Board of Airports Council International, he is a member of the North West Business Leadership Team and Associate Member of the Greater Manchester Chamber Council.
