In July 2007, Katrina founded Planning Express, a communications and brand consultancy supplying strategic services to agencies and brand owners. Prior to that, Katrina was Chairman of Cheetham Bell J Walter Thompson in Manchester, one of the largest agencies outside London and part of JWT Worldwide.

Katrina studied Modern Languages at Bristol University and later took an MBA at INSEAD. Apart from 5 years in the HM Diplomatic Service, Katrina has spent her entire career in communications agencies (DDB, Publicis, Ogilvy and JWT). She has worked for a very wide range of clients from big blue chips such as Ford, Jaguar, Unilever, Kimberly Clark, Reckitt Benckiser and the Central Office of Information to local accounts such as Vimto and the University of Salford.

She has held non-executive positions on the boards of Teamtalk Media plc and Rensburg plc. She is also a Governor of The King’s School in Chester. Katrina is married with 2 sons. Her hobbies are cooking, helping her husband with his wine business and getting out to the cinema and theatre whenever possible.
