This year I have been elected into the role of Student Union Vice President Cheshire for the academic year 2011-2012. In this role I will represent the students and provide the governors with an insight into student life at MMU.

With the recent increase in tuition fees, students coming to MMU will have increasingly high expectations of the experience they will have, and during my time in office I intend to do all I can to enhance the student experience at MMU to make it the best.

During my previous four years studying at MMU I have gained a BA Joint Hons Childhood and Youth and Leisure Management, as well as a Postgraduate Certificate in Early Childhood Studies. I also played a part in the women’s hockey team at MMU Cheshire; vice captaining the 2nd team in the year we won ‘Team of the Year’ at the Sports Awards and gained promotion.

Outside of university over the past 4 years, I have spent a lot of time volunteering my services in a primary school, working with children aged 4-5 years old in order to enhance my knowledge and skills to aid me in my ambition of being a primary school teacher.
