The University places great importance on External Examiner reports, which not only inform the Continuous Monitoring and Improvement of its taught programmes of study, but are also used in external review as indicators of general programme health and quality.

The University requires each External Examiner to complete on an annual basis a pro-forma report. There are separate report templates for completion by Subject External Examiners and by Award External Examiners. For Subject External Examiners appointed to programmes offered in collaboration with partners there is a bespoke template for completion.. All of these templates can be downloaded as Microsoft Word documents below:

If any External Examiner is uncertain which template to use, they should contact their Programme Leader or for advice.

Subject External Examiner reports are made available to the Manchester Met student body via Student Course Representatives and students can access these on their programme Moodle area, or on request to the relevant Programme Leader.
