Examinations and Assessments

Examination and assessment recommendations form part of your PLP and you will be given the opportunity to discuss your needs fully with a Learning Development Adviser before the recommendations are made.  Recommendations will vary according to the nature of your disability but might include, for example provision of a separate room in which to sit your exams, an additional time allowance, rest breaks, use of a word processor or the support of an scribe or reader.

In some cases, alternative assessment arrangements may need to be discussed with course leaders and approved by the faculty’s Board of Examiners and, where relevant, the professional body that regulates the course.

Learner Development Service will be able to advise you further on this and advocate for you, if necessary.  More information about alternative assessment arrangements can be found on the University website and in all Faculty Student Handbooks.
