Mission statement
The Residential Services Office Mission is:
- To aim for excellence in the provision of services;
- To be accessible and responsive to student needs by proactively trying to understand and anticipate requirements;
- To contribute to ensuring that the overall student experience is of the highest quality.
More specifically we will ensure that we meet the accommodation needs of our University community as follows:
- Develop and maintain a skilled, friendly and responsive staff;
- Endeavour to provide a service which is accessible to students
- Actively promote accommodation services to ensure that benefit to the University community (and beyond, as appropriate) is maximised;
- Work in partnership with Manchester Student Homes to ensure accessible information and advice is provided in a range of mediums regarding MMU and Private Sector accommodation;
- Commitment to offering a range of accommodation to suit different needs and budgets;
- Support Equal Opportunities and welcome applications for accommodation from all students, giving special consideration to first year, students with disabilities, care leavers and those whose homes are furthest from MMU;
- Provide a supportive welfare system available out of hours to offer advice and assistance;
- Actively monitor and review service provision on a regular basis, seeking feedback to inform further development;
- Continuously develop and improve efficiency in all aspects of management.
