What is the ‘MMU Alumni Association’?

It’s for all those who have successfully completed a course of study at MMU. So if you studied here – and received your qualification from us – you are automatically entitled to membership of MMU Alumni Association and we’d like to hear from you!

Membership is free and members receive a membership card, Success magazine twice a year, details of a wide range of membership benefits, including discount offers and special promotions, invitations to exclusive networking events, as well as the opportunity to stay connected with students, staff and other alumni by volunteering to get involved by offering professional expertise, advice and placement opportunities for students – so register now.

Am I eligible to join the MMU Alumni Association?

You can be a member if you completed a course of study at MMU or at institutions that became or joined MMU, including:

  • Manchester Polytechnic
  • the College of Art and Design
  • Manchester School of Physiotherapy
  • John Dalton College of Technology
  • the College of Commerce
  • Didsbury College of Education
  • Hollings College
  • the Domestic and Trades College
  • and Crewe & Alsager College of Higher Education.

You need to register online at this website – joining one of the MMU Facebook Alumni groups does not activate your membership.

It’s relatively new! The MMU Alumni Association was launched in July 2007.

Why should I register for the MMU Alumni Association?

Membership is free and members receive a card, Success magazine twice a year and details of special membership offers, invitations to networking events and continued use of some of MMU’s facilities and services after graduation (such as sports facilities and the Employability and Careers service).

New offers are promoted in the e-bulletin that goes out to registered members every month, with full details on how to obtain them, so register now to make sure you hear about them.

You can see a full listing of current membership promotions and services but you need to register to receive details about how to take advantage of them!

How else can I get involved with MMU?
ProfessionallyAlumni can help develop the skills and experience of those who follow in their footsteps – as well as their own – by offering relevant student placements in their places of work, giving professional talks to students, mentoring and publicising job opportunities to students. How do I obtain a replacement certificate?

You need to contact the Registry at +44 (0)161 247 1980 or email awards@mmu.ac.uk. There is a £35 fee for this service.

How do I obtain a transcript of my degree?

If you require a detailed breakdown of the courses you studied as part of your degree, e.g. if you are applying to live or study in a different country, please contact your old department directly.
