What are the benefits?

The new Birley Fields Campus will create up to 340 jobs, open up new training opportunities and create links with schools to help local children and young people progress into higher education.

The campus will incorporate shared community facilities including a sports hall, drama and music studios and rooms for community use.

Students & Staff in the Faculty of Health, Psychology and Social Care and the Institute of Education will benefit from a superb purpose-built learning and teaching environment, near the city centre and 600m from the main campus.

Environmental technologies are built into designs helping us towards our aim of zero water, zero waste and zero carbon

Hulme and Moss Side will benefit economically from the development. It is estimated* the campus and its 6,000 staff and students will add £29.2 million net annual value to the local economy.

The planned £120 million investment in the campus is a massive statement of confidence in the area, especially in a period of economic recession.
