About the Careers & Employability Service

We’re here to provide you with an impartial, high quality service to help you get ahead in you chosen career.

We are committed to equal opportunities, so our employability hub is accessible to users with disabilities and we offer additional support to students who may benefit from extra help.

Our service includes:

  • One-to-one confidential discussions with a Careers & Employability Adviser.
  • Career planning workshops - find out how to write a great CV; top tips for success at interviews and much more!
  • An open access employability hub containing a wide range of careers and employability materials, information on postgraduate options, plus access to the internet for careers-related research.
  • Vacancy information on job and work experience opportunities, which is regularly updated, as well as information on graduate recruitment fairs.
  • E-guidance, allowing MMU students and recent graduates to ask careers-related questions from the comfort of their own homes!
  • Posting the latest careers news online from our blog and to you via facebook and twitter

What you can expect from us

Our appropriately trained and experienced staff will provide you with an impartial and confidential service. You can expect equal and fair treatment and be assured that national codes of standards will be followed. We’ll also make sure that the information we provide is up-to-date and comprehensive.

We will respond to comments where appropriate and all complaints will receive a reply within 10 working days.

What do we expect from you?

We simply ask that you let us know if you can't make an appointment and that you help us to improve our service by giving us feedback via our website or by completing the feedback slips in the careers information rooms.

We also invite you to take part in the surveys on particular aspects of our service that we run from time to time.
