This workshop will get you started writing covering letters and a CV that gets you noticed. It focuses on analysing what makes an effective application and explains the basics of how to sell yourself in writing to future employers. Come along and find out more.

Following this workshop attendees may have the opportunity to discuss their application on a one-to-one basis with a Careers & Employability Adviser.

Graduate Recruitment Fair

If you are looking for a full-time graduate position starting summer/autumn 2010, this is the fair for you! Over 160 exhibitors usually attend from a wide range of sectors, hopefully providing something of interest for students of all degree disciplines.

The fair runs over two days, Wednesday 16 and Thursday 17June, with different exhibitors each day.

Although organised by the Careers Service at The University of Manchester, the fair is open to students and graduates from any university.

Well established and highly regarded by exhibitors and past visitors alike, it has been regularly voted "the best and most cost-effective recruitment fair" by the Association of Graduate Recruiters in the Barkers surveys.

Law Fair

This established and highly regarded fair is an excellent forum for students and graduates to have discussions with firms of solicitors about their opportunities for vacation placements and training contracts, to talk to training providers about their law courses or to find out about careers at the Bar or in other areas of Law.

Last year's fair attracted around 1,700 visitors and over 90 exhibitors - including firms of solicitors, course providers and representation from professional legal bodies such as The Bar, Solicitors in Local Government, The Crown Prosecution Service, The Institute of Legal Executives and many more.

Postgraduate Study Fair

Now in its 17th year, this highly regarded fair is an excellent forum for students to talk to representatives from institutions of higher education offering postgraduate course places for 2011. Hundreds of university postgraduate course places are on offer.

Over 90 institutions from throughout the UK and overseas will be represented, as well as a range of advisory bodies including the US-UK Fulbright Commission, Study Overseas UK, the Training & Development Agency for Schools, Study Options, The Australian Trade Commission, PG Studentships and many more. Each year the number of students and graduate visitors totals about 2,000.

Although organised by the Careers Service at The University of Manchester, the fair is open to students and graduates from any university.
