No need to book, just come along on the day!

The fair will run from 11am till 2pm and will take place on The Street, John Dalton Building. You will have the chance to meet and network with science and engineering employers ‘face to face’. Exhibitors will be offering immediate job vacancies, postgraduate course places, voluntary work opportunities and temporary jobs.

  • Graduate careers fairs: why, where and how to prepare – 12pm

    Graduate Recruitment Fairs are an excellent opportunity to meet and network with employers ‘face to face’. Your perfect job could be waiting for you at this year’s graduate fairs. Exhibitors will be offering immediate job vacancies, postgraduate course places, voluntary work opportunities and temporary jobs.

    By the end of the session you will know:

    • When and where the Fairs take place
    • What to expect
    • The preparation needed to get the most out of them
    • How to sell your skills so that employers take notice of you.
  • Successful interviews: get that job! – 1pm

    One job. Six candidates. Your turn in front of the interview panel. Only one thing will decide it – what you say and do in the next half hour. This is an interactive workshop which will give you the chance to explore that interview experience.

    By the end of the session you will

    • Get practical advice to help minimise nerves & maximize your performance at interviews
    • Learn how to prepare and how to handle those difficult interview questions
    • Find out how to perform with confidence to make that lasting impression.
  • Amazing applications: net that job – 2pm

    Completing application forms is easy – right? Think again! Each application you complete has to be carefully crafted to win an interview. More and more companies are also using online application forms, but you need specific knowledge to make your application stand out – whether it’s going to be scanned by a computer looking for keywords or read by a critical human.

    By the end of the session you will know:

    • The key things an employer is looking for
    • How online applications are assessed
    • The insider know-how you need to get yours through successfully.
  • How to write great CVs – 3pm

    Ever wondered how to write a CV that will get you an interview?

    This workshop will get you started writing cover letters and CVs that get you noticed.

    By the end of the session you will know:

    • The key things an employer looks for in a CV
    • How to format your CV – including what you should and shouldn’t include
    • How to use the right language to really grab an employer’s attention.
