Make your 1st year count

  • Get active and get involved

    Join a student club, society or sports team – you’ll build skills as well as meet new friends and experience something new. Find out more.

  • Get work or voluntary experience

    Learn about the different types of work experience. Consider the benefits of volunteering. Register for Jobs Hub online to look for part time work. Jobs4Students offer paid work experience on campus.

  • Record your achievements

    Learn how to create your CV – read our guide to CVs and Covering Letters and attend our CV writing workshop. Consider signing up to the MMU Futures Award to evidence your experiences.

Final year Finalise your plans for after graduation

  • Find out which employers are recruiting and what they look for

    Check application deadlines for graduate schemes and postgraduate study to leave enough time to apply. (Many graduate schemes recruit in autumn for jobs that start in the autumn after you graduate.) Find out more.

  • Start making applications for graduate schemes or postgraduate study

    Get expert advice on completing applications, preparing for interviews and what to expect at assessment centres in our guides and workshops. You can also practise psychometric tests online.

  • Use all the support and services available at university while you can.
