Interview Tips

Once you’ve secured an interview, try to gather as much information about the process as possible.

You’ll need to know the basics such as:

  • Where is it being held?
  • How do I get there?
  • Is there any parking or public transport nearby?
  • Is there disabled access?
  • How long will it take?
  • What format is the interview?
  • Are there any additional assessments?

Make sure you’re on time. Try to get there at least ten minutes early, so you have time to go through your thoughts.

Dress appropriately for the interview. Whilst you need to be smart, you also need to make sure you’re comfortable. Avoid clothing that’s restrictive or that will distract the interviewer from listening to you.

When you’re in the interview, give a firm hand shake, remember to smile and maintain eye contact with whoever you’re talking to.

Don’t forget you were invited for the interview so you must have already made a good impression.
