How MMU can help you with your Employability

Start-up Business Incubator

If you are interested in starting up your own business, you may wish to take advantage of the excellent inexpensive facilities at Innospace, which offers business advisers, professional mentors and a wide range of workshops designed to meet the needs and interests of entrepreneurs as well as open plan office space providing all the facilities of a new office including PCs, broadband, printing, telephones and bookable meeting space.

Careers Service

The Careers Service offers personal and web-based support after graduation.

Mentoring

Improve your own learning and performance by becoming a mentor for a student or new graduate of MMU. Mentormatch, an e-mentoring programme, can develop your coaching and communication skills.

Postgraduate Study

Continue your education through postgraduate study at a discounted rate. MMU is one of the UK’s largest and most popular Universities. We work closely with business, industry, the professions and the public and not for profit sectors and have a strong reputation for the provision of programmes that are vocationally driven and respond to regional and national priorities. We offer a wide range of courses which respond to real world needs and requirements. Currently, 140 programmes are accredited by professional bodies and the University continues to strengthen and build on partnerships with employers and its alumni.

How you can help to build the Employability of MMU students

Become a mentor via the Mentormatch e-mentoring programme. Even if you have graduated in the last couple of years, your knowledge and experience can still be valuable.

There are many other ways in which you can get involved, so register on the alumni website. Your help will be valued by both staff and students.
