LGBT History Month

February is LGBT History Month, which celebrates the progress made in achieving equal rights for the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender communities in the UK.

For 2016, Manchester Met is proudly sponsoring the National Festival of LGBT History, which takes place in Manchester on 25-27 February. For more details, visit

Race Equality Survey

Equality and Diversity Intern, Sophie Malik, is currently undertaking a piece of research around the experiences of Black and Minority Ethnic (BME) staff. The survey is open until 10th February 2016 and all staff, regardless of ethnic or national identity, are encouraged to take a few minutes to complete it. All responses are anonymised and confidential.

International Women's Day

To celebrate International Women's Day on 8th March, Manchester Met is working with the Proud Trust to put together a walking tour of women's histories. The tours form part of the city-wide Wonder Women festival, and tickets can be booked here:
