Evaluation

How do you evaluate learning with your staff members?

To make sure that the benefits of any development are realised, follow these simple steps:

  • Before -
    Agree with the staff member what development is needed and how this learning will make a difference in practice.
  • Staff member completes the development.
  • Afterwards -
    Have a conversation about whether the development need has been met and discuss how the learning will be put into practice.

Evaluation of ODTD projects and programmes

As well as carrying out evaluations to check participant reactions after all of our training sessions, the Organisation Development Training and Diversity (ODTD) Team:

  • carries out follow up evaluations of a sample of centrally delivered courses/programmes 3-6 months after the event to measure how learning has been applied in the workplace; and
  • carries out organisational impact evaluation exercises on selected training interventions or programmes to assess the impact of learning on organisational effectiveness and whether or not it is cost-effective in organisational terms.
