ILM - Institute of Leadership and Management Qualifications

The Organisation Development Training and Diversity Team are an accredited Institute of Leadership and Management (ILM) Centre. This means that we can offer leadership and management development programmes to support you in your role here at MMU which are benchmarked against nationally recognised leadership and management standards. This also allows you to build your career by gaining a recognised qualification.

• ILM is the largest awarding organisation for qualifications in leadership, management, coaching and enterprise
• They have around 90,000 learners registering for ILM qualifications each year
• They have around 30,000 practicing managers as members

By engaging in our ILM development programmes you can:

• develop your management and leadership capability and become more effective in leading, managing and developing people
• network with other managers and supervisors from different areas within MMU
• gain a nationally accredited qualification
• become a student member of a professional organisation with no cost to you for a full 12 months - with the opportunity of upgrading to full membership at any time

We currently offer the following programmes:

• Overview & Guide to Qualitifications

• ILM Award or Certificate in Team Leading - aimed at people in a team leading role or new to supervision

• ILM Award, Certificate or Diploma in First Line Management - aimed at those who are first line managers or new to management

• ILM Award in Managing Equality & Diversity in Organisations - aimed at all managers

• ILM Award & Certificate in Leadership - aimed at middle managers

• ILM Award in workplace coaching - aimed at supervisors and first line managers to give them the knowledge, skills and confidence to perform effectively as workplace coaches

• ILM Certificate in Coaching & Mentoring in Management - aimed at middle managers to develop and equip them with the knowledge, skills and confidence to perform effectively as coaches or mentors as part of their normal working role
