Equality Staff Fora at MMU

MMU now has four staff equality fora (click on links for more info on each forum):

The fora are a sub committee of the Diversity and Equal Opportunities Committee (DEOC) and are serviced by the Equality and Diversity (E and D) Co-ordinator as part of her job role. The fora are all inclusive and staff can attend if they have an interest in the area. They provide a vehicle through which staff can raise equality issues which can then be fed back to the University’s DEOC where solutions can be found.

Each forum has two Co-Chairs that are voted in by forum members who hold the post for 2 years. They work closely with the E and D team and one part of their role is to contribute to setting Fora termly meeting agendas to support the equality priorities identified by the members and DEOC. Also to promote an inclusive culture within forum meetings which celebrates diversity and welcomes all members and those in attendance. The full Co-Chair terms of reference can be found here.

Elections are carried out by the E and D team and full details of the Co-Chair Election procedures can be found here. To download the Fora Co-Chair nomination form click here.

For more information on the fora, the role of Co-Chairs, election procedures or to become a member of any of the forums please contact the E and D Co-ordinator Vicci Jarman v.jarman@mmu.ac.uk ext. 6415
