My profile
Biography
My research investigates the use of mental simulation techniques such as virtual reality, motor imagery, and action observation and the effects these have upon learning and skilled performance in a variety of populations. My current research interests include investigating how mental simulation techniques can be used to improve the rehabilitation of stroke survivors and how virtual reality can be used to improve skilled performance in health and sport settings.
In terms of personal interests, I keenly follow all sports but I primarily enjoy road cycling. A personal aim of mine is to cycle some of the toughest climbs of each of cycling’s three Grand Tours: the Tour de France, Giro d’Italia, and Vuelta a España .
Teaching
Why do I teach?
I teach because I value of the impact my own teachers had upon me and my own career development. I hope to be able support current and future generations of students in finding their own path towards successful and rewarding careers.
