
To raise the profile of courses at MMU relating to the Creative Industries and to highlight the University’s awareness of and responsiveness to the needs of employers and businesses, the Press and PR Office within Marketing and Communications launched a PR campaign incorporating a variety of events around the annual Art & Design Degree Show and Fashion Week.
The campaign aimed to position MMU’s teaching at the forefront in art, design, creative writing, theatre, film and fashion subjects, courses that produced highly talented graduates attractive to employers. In addition, the campaign sought to raise the profile of MMU’s annual Graduate Fashion Show and Art & Design Faculty Show within the North West and develop the University’s relationships with relevant media contacts.
A sustained media campaign was implemented around key events at MMU, resulting in local, regional and national news coverage, and saw the highest ever visitor numbers to the Art & Design Degree Show. Crucially, the Press Office further developed the University’s relationships with relevant media contacts and have fostered new partnerships with agencies and press outfits.
