Ceramic Artist
‘The course at MMU, particularly the final year, really helped me develop as a ceramic artist, creatively and professionally. The advice and support I received helped build my confidence to realise and interpret my ideas, and from this, to create a complete and well finished body of work, giving me the tools and motivation to start my professional practice after graduation.’
‘I create sculptural ceramic wall reliefs for internal and external environments, minimal and abstract in form. My work explores surface decoration through expressive mark-making, glaze, texture and pattern and is inspired by nature’s rhythms, patterns, seasons and colour palette.
‘The pictured collection of works is titled ‘Nature’s Mark’. This series of work was inspired by my own observations, photographs and drawings from nature’s plants, in particular a collection of photos taken on walks in nature titled ‘Where I see beauty’
‘I work from my home studio in Manchester and create ceramic pieces for display and sale in galleries and exhibitions and also private commissions.’
