HEART-throb actor James Redmond - aka Finn from Hollyoaks – is the face of MMU’s FairTrade Fortnight (February 22 – March 7).
James, who also played Abs in Casualty and now does stand-up comedy, will be hosting an afternoon of discussion and a marketplace!
Companies such as SharedEarth and Pants to Poverty will be in attendance to show you what is available in your local high street shops, at Met Bar in the Student Union on March 2, 2-4pm. There will also be goodies to give away and FairTrade food and drink! DJ sets from some special guests TBC.
Before that, on Wednesday, February 24, there’s Go Banana’s for Haiti in All Saints Park with music, fun and a banana give-away, 12.30pm until 2.30pm. To donate, please go to www.justgiving.com/go-bananas-for-haiti

Throughout FairTrade Fortnight, MMU catering outlets will be stocking special FairTrade products such as cakes, biscuits and UNBUNTU Cola
At Aytoun, don’t miss the big bake off- lots of fair trade goodies being baked all week as well as the usual range of fair trade products on sale.
Hollings hosts FairTrade sales and a guess the number of fair trade beans in the jar competition - the prize will be a fair trade goodie bag.
At Didsbury, look out for What's your swap?.. Swap your usual snack in favour of a slice of homemade FairTrade cake ... add any tea or coffee and save 20p!
And finally, at Gaskell, there will be a raffle and sales of FairTrade products - juices, flapjacks, muffins, and divine bars.
