
TWO Manchester Metropolitan University (MMU) law students triumphed at the regional final of the National Client Interviewing Competition in Newcastle.
The two students, Alice McDonald and Jade Tufail are studying on the Bar Professional Training Course (BPTC) at MMU and are moving in the right direction to fulfill their dreams of becoming top barristers.
It is the second time in three years that MMU School of Law students have triumphed in the competition that centres on a simulated law office interview.
Joanne Lewthwaite, BPTC course director said: “This is a superb achievement for our students and the skills they have developed will be invaluable for their future career success. They are a credit to MMU’s School of Law and we look forward to supporting them in their preparation for the national finals.”
Alice, who is from Clywd and Jade, from Gwynedd, said: “We are so pleased to have the reached the national finals of the interviewing competition. We actually achieved the highest overall marks out of all twenty-two teams competing across the country.
“The competition is very tough but we have received excellent support from our tutors and gained skills that will be incredibly useful. We are really looking forward to the finals.”
The National final of this prestigious competition will be held at the University of Sussex on 3rd March and the MMU students and the School of Law will be eager to maintain their successful record.
