Join Team Orange at the Great Manchester Run

The AJ Bell Great Manchester Run is the city’s original and best-loved running event. Get involved by joining hundreds of students, staff members, and alumni taking part in the 10k run on Sunday 26 May as part of Team Orange.

Represent the University and enjoy what will be a memorable day with live music and entertainment zones at every turn – plus, some of the loudest and most enthusiastic local support.

To celebrate the University’s bicentenary, we are delighted to offer a special rate of £18.24 for the 10k run to staff and students at Manchester Met. There will also be discounted rates for alumni, family, and friends. As part of your entry fee, you will receive a Team Orange t-shirt to wear during the run. We ask those who already have one to reuse their t-shirt.

Registration is normally £42 but when you sign up with Team Orange, entry fees are only:

• Students: £18.24
• Staff: £18.24
• Alumni: £24.00

• Friends & Family: £27.50

Run for Manchester Met’s First Generation charity

If you’re planning to run as part of Team Orange and you haven’t already chosen a charity to fundraise for, consider Manchester Met’s award-winning First Generation Scholarship Programme. 

It’s easy to sign up and you’ll be helping to transform the lives of young people from the North West who would like to go to university, but whose parents didn’t have the opportunity. First Generation gives practical support and application guidance to students in Year 12 and 13 and those who progress to Manchester Met get continued financial, personal, and professional support throughout their studies that will help them succeed. 

To fundraise for First Gen, simply set up a JustGiving page and share with family, friends, and colleagues. Once set up, let us know by emailing us at giving@mmu.ac.uk. We can direct you to assets to support your fundraising activity.
