Sport Development Unit Coach Education Courses

The Sport Development Unit is a sporting initiative that has been developed fundamentally to provide sporting and coach education opportunities in the North West.

The Unit offers you access to high quality sporting and art education and new opportunities whilst at the same time providing you with experience in sport/arts-specific contexts promoting your development as educators.

You will be given opportunities to develop your skills by moving to more specialised sessions and ultimately, through our links with local sports clubs, onto higher levels of performance – i.e. the classic sports development model which moves from the foundation stage through participation and performance stages to the excellence stage.

The Unit also organises a portfolio of coach education courses throughout the academic year. The courses are offered to students at a discounted rate and courses range from Level 1 and Level 2 National Governing Body awards to Sports Coach UK coaches workshops and Health & Safety Executive First Aid courses.
