  • Car Parking
    How do I request a car parking permit?

    You should apply for a permit within the application window, which is September to mid October. Go to our Staff Travel pages for information regarding permit application.

    Our Travel Plan Manager will consider your application if there has been a significant change of circumstance. Please email  the Travel Team detailing your change of circumstance.

    If you’re a new starter, contact the Travel Team to arrange your permit application.

    Our cleaners are instructed not to touch your computer as we do not wish to disturb what could be a vital word document or spreadsheet, for example.

    Cleaning computer equipment is considered to be a personal responsibility of staff across the University.

    How to order pre-paid envelopes and where do I get them from?
    To obtain pre-paid envelopes please contact the Central Mail Team on 0161 247 3421 or email centralmailroom@mmu.ac.uk. We will need your department name and budget code to recharge the envelope service costs. All envelopes will be returned to our office where they will be counted and sent on to you. This counting is for recharge purposes.

    I need to report a fault/request a repair. How do I do this?

    The helpdesk can arrange the repair of any emergency or general maintenance issues, including the replacement of light bulbs. We aim to repair all urgent faults within 24 hours. These are faults which may compromise the health and safety of staff, students or visitors.

    How do I hire vehicles?

    We are able to hire vehicles for staff to use on MMU business. Please email or forward the proforma to Ian Hamblett, Security and Group Transport Manager, Cavendish Building North to request this service.

    To use this service, the driver must have a:

    • Minimum age of 25 years
    • Be able to show a valid driving licence (both parts)

    Driving licences should be brought to Room 128, 1st floor, Cavendish Building North, All Saints Campus for verification.

    How do I recycle CDs and DVDs?

    If the CDs or DVDs contain student work or any personal details, these need to be disposed of as confidential waste. Please refer to the ‘How do I dispose of confidential waste?’ question on this page for guidance.

    If there is no issue of confidentiality, CDs and DVDs can be recycled normally through the green recycling hub bins.

    If you are unsure or have any queries please contact the Waste and Recycling team at wasteandrecycling@mmu.ac.uk.

    Please complete the Key Request Form and return by post to the address on the document or email the completed form to prompt@mmu.ac.uk.
