  • How do I ensure portable equipment is safe to use?

The Property Services team annually test portable equipment. One of the common failures is the non-compliance of power leads on certain electrical appliances which should not be used on MMU premises.

You will notice that the plug is smaller than a standard moulded plug and has no fuse.

If you have a piece of equipment with a similar power lead, please stop using the appliance immediately and report it to the Facilities Help Desk on ext 2882.
