How to Apply


Application Forms

You will need to complete one of the following application forms to apply for assistance from any of the discretionary financial support schemes. These forms and their accompanying guidance notes can be downloaded by clicking on the links below. (You will need a copy of Adobe Reader to download these forms. You can download this for free by clicking on the icon above. A small number of hard copies will be available from the Student Hub, Ground Floor, Business School and Student Hub, All Saints Campus, or the Students' Union Advice Centre, Third Floor, Students' Union Building.  

You are encouraged to apply early in the academic year as this will help you with your budgeting. Funds are limited and demand is usually very high.

 

An announcement will be made on these pages if the allocation of funds is exhausted.
The application form you complete for the Access to Learning Fund (ALF) is dependant upon your mode of attendance, whether you are studying full-time or part-time.  Please note if you are repeating part of a full-time course on a part-time basis you should complete a full time application form.

Please ensure you read the guidance notes accompanying the application form before and whilst you complete your application form.  The notes there to help you complete your form, tell you how we assess your form and what documents we require  and why.

Completed applications forms along with the required documentary evidence detailed on the form’s checklist should be returned to the:

Please note if you are posting the form it is your responsibility to ensure that the form arrives with Student Financial Support team by any advertised closing dates.  This includes ensuring you have paid the correct postage.  Application forms received after the closing dates will not be assessed.

ALF Closing Dates

The closing dates for applications to the Access to Learning Fund 2012/13 are as follows:

Final Years & Postgraduates                     Friday 22 March 2013

All other years                                           Friday 17 May 2013
