Tuition Fee Loans

You can apply for a loan from the Student Loans Company (SLC) to pay for your tuition fees if you meet the eligibility criteria outlined on the Directgov website.  This loan is not means-tested and is paid directly to the University to pay for your tuition fees.

You apply for this loan at the same time you apply for your maintenance loan by completing form PN1 or PR1 as appropriate. When completing your form, please ensure that you indicate that you are studying at Manchester Metropolitan University (Institution code M40).

You do not need to pay back this loan until you have left university then you repay it at 9% of your earnings above £15,000. So someone earning £18,000 - the average starting salary for a graduate - would be paying back £5.19 per week.

You can find out more information about fees and fee loans, including repayment details on the Directgov website.

Please check the Tuition Fee pages of this site for the tuition fee rates
