Loyalty Discount Scheme

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the Loyalty Discount Scheme?
We offer a tuition fee reduction called a Loyalty Discount to the majority of postgraduate students. If you have successfully completed a full- or part-time Bachelors degree at Manchester Metropolitan University, you may be eligible for a loyalty discount when you take a full- or part-time course leading to a Postgraduate Certificate, Postgraduate Diploma, or Masters degree, or when you register for a research degree.
Who is entitled to a loyalty discount, and is my course part of the scheme?

The majority of students who enrol on a postgraduate programme should be eligible for a loyalty discount, however, there are a few postgraduate courses that are exempt from the scheme, including courses that the University delivers but that do not lead to an MMU award; distance learning, franchised or validated courses; courses that are not based at one of the University's campuses; and a small number of specific courses.

How much loyalty discount should I receive?

Students who have successfully completed an undergraduate degree award with us and who go on to study a postgraduate programme at the University paying the full overseas tuition fees will receive a loyalty discount of £1,000.

Students who have successfully completed an undergraduate degree award with us and who go on to study a postgraduate programme at the University will receive a loyalty discount of 10%, excluding exempt courses detailed under the agreed terms and conditions.

How and when is the loyalty discount awarded?

Good news! You do not need to apply for the 2011/12 Loyalty Discount Scheme, as the appropriate discount will be awarded automatically to those students who are eligible.

For eligible students who enrol: you will receive confirmation of the loyalty discount to your University e-mail account and the appropriate discount will then be applied to your tuition fee.

I think I'm entitled to a discount but haven't received a confirmation email, what should do?
If you believe you are entitled to a loyalty discount but haven't received an e-mail to your University e-mail account to confirm this, you should contact the Loyalty Discount Team.
I've already paid my tuition fees in full but have received notification that I am entitled to a loyalty discount, what should I do?

If you have paid your tuition fees in full you will need to request a refund for the amount of Loyalty Discount you are entitled to.

The written request should be sent to:

Any payment of a refund approved by the University will be made in accordance with the original method of payment as follows:

  • Credit/ Debit Card including on-line payment - approved refunds will be made directly back to the card from which it was paid;
