Cheap and Cheerful in Cheshire
Cheshire has acres and acres of countryside, so whether you fancy walking, hiking, mountain/rock climbing or fishing, Cheshire has an abundance of mother nature for you to enjoy.
Head for the Boat Museum in Ellesmere Port, for example. For £5.25 you can have a fun-filled day with your mates exploring canal boats. You'll be able to hop aboard the traditional boats and find out more about the history from their owners.
If sport is more your thing, catch a match at Crewe Alexandra Football Club. Although not exactly premiership type matches, the atmosphere during a match is a guaranteed adrenaline rush - and will give novices to 'the beautiful game' an appreciation for the nation's passion for football.
Alternatively, you can go for a selection of circular walks around Cheshire ranging from a leisurely stroll along Parkgate Promenade to a bracing trek around the rugged heights of Rawhead. Make sure you're properly kitted to keep you warm and dry, bring a packed lunch with you and enjoy the lush countryside.
There's loads of museums that have free admission, too, so go and have a peek at the selection on offer.
Of course, the cinema is always a good day out. Catch the latest flick at the Reel Cinema. Apart from the comfortable seats and big screens, REEL cinema also has a café bar if you fancy a drink before your film.
To complete your day out, head for Good Fortune Chinese Restaurant for an eat-all-you-can oriental cuisine extravaganza. From spring rolls to chow mein, you can have as much as you want for a set price.
Prefer something different? Then check out Saturdays at the Squires (01270 589945), where they offer a Mexican Night. Restaurants usually charge extra on weekends, so be sure to ring before going.
