We are keen for our guests to know how easy it is to get to us using alternative modes of transport. By leaving your car in the garage, you can help reduce your carbon footprint and contribute towards lowering emissions.
By train: We are based in the Manchester city centre and are only a 5 minute walk from Manchester Oxford Road train station, which is 0.5 mile away. We are also a ten minute walk from Crewe train station if you are visiting our Cheshire site.
By bus: The 147 Oxford Road Link service is the cheapest and greenest bus in the city and is an electricity hybrid. For term-time visits, we also have the 141 which runs exclusively to our Birley site every 10 minutes during the day.
By bike: The Manchester Oxford Road corridor has cycle lanes that run to the University. For more information visit the tfGM online cycling centre for paths and routes around the city.
The University's main campus is conveniently situated close to the heart of the city. Manchester is renowned for its museums, art galleries, attractions, music venues and more theatres than any other English city outside London! The city also boasts superb restaurants and shops.

Our facilities in Cheshire are located in a beautiful region. The area is known for its pretty villages, market towns, country manor houses and the historic city of Chester. There are many attractions nearby including Jodrell Bank and Tatton Park.
