  • Requesting a refund

    To request a refund, please email the Refunds team with your full name, Manchester Met student ID number, and the reason for requesting the refund. 

    Owing to administration and other costs, we will only process a refund for amounts over £15 and only when all other debts owed by the recipient to us have been cleared.

  • How long will it take to receive my refund?

    All refund requests are subject to further investigation, and the Refunds team may contact you for further details or documentation. Once they have received all relevant information, your refund will be processed within 14 days.

    Once your refund has been processed, how quickly you receive it will depend on the method of refund payment. Certain payment methods are quicker than others, so as a general guide, once we have processed your refund, you can expect to receive it:

    • Within 5-7 working days if you paid by UK credit or debit card or bank transfer through Flywire
    • Within 1-4 weeks if you paid by international card or bank transfer through Flywire
    • Within 2-10 weeks if you paid by international bank transfer (direct to bank)
  • How will my refund be paid?

    We will process refunds back to the person who made the original payment, and via the same method of payment. No exceptions will be made.

    • If the original payment was made through Flywire, they will return all funds to the originating account in the originating currency in accordance with Flywire Terms of Use.
    • If the original payment was made via an international bank transfer, UK banking regulations oblige us to return the funds to the originating bank account overseas. Please be aware that this process can take up to 10 weeks from start to finish.
    • Approved Met Card refunds will be made by BACS and bank details should be supplied. Met card top-ups made through Flywire will be refunded to Flywire who will return the funds to the original card or bank account.
  • Are there any charges for processing a refund?

    International student deposit refunds may incur an administration charge of £200 - £350. Please visit the our International website for further information.

    Flywire refunds may be subject to additional fees in accordance with Flywire Terms of Use.
