Specialist Study Skills Support

There are two specialist study skills tutors, working in Learner Development who teach study skills in small groups to students with a specific learning difficulty. A specific learning difficulty is an umbrella term used to cover a range of differences in the way some people learn and process information, the most common of which is dyslexia. Students with dyslexia may experience difficulties with: processing spoken and written information, time management and organisation, reading and spelling.

Examples of the study skills taught include: managing your time; note-taking; reading and note-making; essay writing, and reflective writing (this is not a complete list). For more information about the specialist study skills workshops and details about how to book on, please see visit
