Professor Sylvester Arnab at Coventry University is globally recognised for his novel work within game science, spanning across serious games, gamification, games-based learning and many others. Join Professor Sylvester Arnab and us as he presents his findings on game-based research and practice towards solving a variety of real-world problems, discusses the latest advancements in the academic field and concludes on common misconceptions and pitfalls in the domain.


Organised by the Manchester Game Studies Network (MGSN) and the Centre for Advanced Computational Science at Manchester Metropolitan University.

The Manchester Games Studies Network (MGSN), established at Manchester Metropolitan University in 2016, is an interdisciplinary research group working on games and play. Our focus is on both analogue and digital games, and the MGSN team brings together academics and practitioners from a range of disciplines, including Education, English, Games Design, History, Media Studies, Psychology, Science Communication, and Sociology.
