About student placements and internships

Students need relevant work experience to compete for graduate careers. Employers want to identify and recruit new talent. Placements and internships help both students and employers to get what they need.

Whatever your business needs, there’s an option to suit you. We’ll work with you to develop an opportunity that adds value to your business, including:

  • Sandwich placements — typically last between nine and 12 months and form part of a student’s degree
  • Summer internships — typically last between one and three months during the university holidays
  • Part-time internships — work that takes place while the intern is still studying

We work with all types of employers from a wide range of sectors, from small and medium-sized businesses in the North West to multinational organisations.

Costs

Student placements are paid opportunities.

We are a Real Living Wage employer, so we’ll only approve placements over the National Minimum Wage. We strongly recommend that students are paid in line with National Living Wage. An average placement salary is £23,000.
