Safety advice

The Government has lifted all remaining legal COVID-19 restrictions in England.

While there is no requirement for us to maintain COVID-19 measures at Manchester Met, after reviewing the Government’s latest guidance, we have decided to retain some until the end of the summer term.

You will still find hand sanitisation stations at building entrances, and we will maintain extra cleaning and fresh air ventilation in our buildings.

We will also maintain our COVID-19 management plans in case public health advice changes.

If you have one or more of the main COVID-19 symptoms you are advised to take a test, if you can.

If you test positive or do not feel well enough to attend classes, please follow the latest guidance for People with symptoms of a respiratory infection including COVID-19.

Please remember to report your absence from classes via the MyMMU app in the normal way.

Please feel free to wear a face covering if you would like to do so; supplies will continue to be available in lecture theatres and from reception desks during this time.

Vaccinations

We continue to encourage you to take up the offer of your vaccinations and booster. Vaccination remains the best protection against COVID-19.

International

If you are an international student due to travel to the UK, please follow the UK Government’s guidance on to travelling to England.

Looking after yourself at university

In case you become ill while you are at university, we encourage you to register with a local GP. You may never need one, but if you do, it’s much easier to get medical advice or treatment if in you have already registered.

You can explore all our University’s wellbeing services on our Wellbeing pages.
