Disabled Staff Forum
What is the Disabled Staff Forum?
This is a group of disabled staff run by disabled staff and supported by the Organisation Development and Training Unit and is facilitated by the Equality and Diversity Co-ordinator. It aims to support disabled staff and acts as a discussion forum for relevant issues affecting the university, such as fire evacuation, new building projects and location maps. It also acts as a support mechanism for individuals at work.
Other interested non-disabled people are able to attend the group and guest speakers with a disability agenda are asked to feedback on the progress of relevant projects. The Forum acts as a consultative group to support the work of the Diversity and Equal Opportunities Committee.
The Chairs of the Forum attend the DEOC in order to directly report back on the experiences and priorities of their members.
