Syed

Syed chose to study a masters in order to acquire skills in new technologies and methodologies that have developed in the engineering sector in recent years. “Also, in the highly competitive global marketplace, a masters degree will set you apart from other candidates.”

During his studies, Syed completed an industrial placement at British American Tobacco (BAT) as an Electronic Engineer. Thanks to this opportunity, he managed to secure a full-time position as a Device Engineer after graduation. “My placement enhanced my technical skills and allowed me to apply my knowledge to solve real-life problems. I developed other workplace skills such as time management, communication and working effectively as a team.”

All our engineering masters courses include an optional placement year, and we strongly encourage our students to make the most of this opportunity. Thrusted into real-world working environments, you’ll improve your practical and interpersonal skills, gaining a newfound confidence in your abilities.

“I enjoyed every single day of my placement. Each day brought new challenges and I got to meet people from all walks of life.”
