Retention and Disposal Schedule

The Retention and Disposal schedule is an essential element of the University's records management framework. It is a control document which aims to do the following:

  • promote control over the University’s records;
  • enable staff to dispose confidently of records which are no longer needed;
  • ensure the retention of the minimum volume of records consistent with economy and efficiency.

The Retention and Disposal Schedule

The schedule covers all records, irrespective of medium, and should be applied to electronic records as well as paper-based ones.

The schedule was approved by the GDPR Steering Group on 11th December 2017. It is currently under review.
