Exercise physiology can be applied to a range of contexts by understanding the detailed mechanisms that control and regulate human function. Research in this discipline can facilitate the development of new treatments and guidelines for maintaining human health.
Kelly is a Senior Lecturer in Exercise Physiology at Manchester Met and Early Career Metabolic Theme Lead for The Physiological Society. Her research employs a range of translational techniques to study integrative human physiology and metabolism in response to lifestyle interventions and behaviour. The aims of her research are to identify therapeutic targets earlier in life to improve the health of our ageing society and to develop effective interventions that reach our diverse communities and address multimorbidity.
