Entry requirements

If you have these qualifications, that doesn’t mean you are guaranteed to get the place you want. We look at each application individually.
Foundation
You must have:
Higher Secondary School Certificate (HSSC)/ FA/FSc/Intermediate (Year 12) with a score between 50% and 70% (3 streams: Science, General, and Humanities) with a pass in Mathematics.
Undergraduate
We typically require students to achieve a minimum of between 70% to 80% in HSSC/FA/FSc/Intermediate (Year 12). Please note that some course with higher entry criteria may require 80 to 85% e.g., Physiotherapy and Architecture.
We will consider students with a two-year bachelor’s degree or associate degree for entry to year one with a minimum GPA of 55% to 70% or a GPA of 2.7/4.0– this may vary depending on the degree classification system used.
We will consider students with a three-year diploma of associate engineer (DAE) with a score of at least 55%
Some courses may state specific subjects and grade requirements. Where a specific subject is required for entry, 70% or above must be achieved in this subject.
You should have the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) at level 6.0, with no scores less than 5.5 in any section. We may accept equivalent qualifications.
Undergraduate/Advanced entry and top-up degrees
You can apply to join a bachelor’s degree course at Manchester Met in its second year if you completed:
- Students with 2 years of a 4 year degree with 2.7 GPA may be considered for level 5 entry.
- Students with 3 years of 4 year degree with 2.7 GPA may be considered for final year entry.
Postgraduate/masters
You must have a bachelor’s degree awarded by a university that is officially recognised in your country by the Pakistan Higher Education Council (HEC).
Typical qualifications include:
- Students with a 4-year bachelor’s degree in the range of 2.7/4.0 to 3.0/4.0.
- Students with a 4-year bachelor’s degree in the range of 2.5 to 2.8 with at least 2 years’ relevant work experience
- Law Degree in the range of 47% to 60%, depending on the awarding institution.
- 2 Year Bachelor plus 2 year Master Degree with a GPA in the range of 2.7 /4.0 to 3.0/4.0 or 55% to 60%, may vary depending on the grading scheme used by the awarding university.
- National Diploma in Design from the National College of Arts Lahore with 2.7/4.0 to 3.0/4.0
You should have the International English Language Testing System (IELTS) at level 6.5 with no scores less than 5.5 in any section. We may accept equivalent qualifications. English language requirements
You need to have a recognised English language qualification to study at Manchester Metropolitan.
The score required will vary depending on the qualification and the area of study you have chosen. If you hold an offer of a place from the University, your offer will give you the specific requirements for your course.
Typical International English Language Testing System (IELTS) requirements are:
- 6.0 (no less than 5.5 in any section) or equivalent for undergraduate courses
- 6.5 (no less than 5.5 in any section) or equivalent for postgraduate courses

Visa requirements
You will need a visa to study in the UK unless you:
- are a British citizen
- are a citizen of a European Economic Area (EEA) member state or Switzerland
- have a visa to stay in the UK for another purpose that allows you to study. This might be because you are the husband, wife, partner or child of someone in the UK and have a dependent visa.

Tuition fees for 2023/2024 courses
Taught courses
You can use our online prospectus to check tuition fees for individual courses.
Some courses may have additional costs, for example for field trips, equipment, materials or professional / statutory body registration fees. Estimates are provided in the course listings. We will confirm fees as part of your offer.
Undergraduate taught courses
- If we classify you as an EU or Non-EU International student, you will normally pay between £17,000 and £18,500.
Postgraduate taught courses
- If we classify you as an EU or Non-EU International student, you will normally pay between £17,000 and £19,000.

Living costs
It sounds obvious, but your living costs really depend on your lifestyle – how you want to spend your free time.
We suggest you budget to spend at least £6,000 for the academic year, in addition to your accommodation costs and tuition fees. Around £9,000 will help you enjoy more of the sights and attractions that Manchester and the UK has to offer.
