The Union at the centre of social life on campus, with study spaces, a shop, bar and cafe. But it’s more than just a building – it’s a centre for help and support.

At The Union, you can get advice on anything from money problems to mental health and housing. Our Student Officers are elected by you and represent you at University meetings, making sure your voice is heard.

  • Social life

    The Students’ Union building has everything you need, whether you’re looking for a place to meet friends, relax between lectures, or grab some food on campus. Facilities include:

    • The Shop: all your university essentials in one place, from groceries to clothing and stationery. Students can use their Met Card to get great prices. 
    • The Union Cafe: serving hot and cold food, Starbucks drinks, and a place to relax.
  • Study areas

    The Study is a brand new refurbished space with comfy modern seating complete with power supply and USB ports. Desktop computers are available with no need to book ahead. If you need a quiet study space, a meeting room, or place to get together to discuss work with other students, you can book a room in the Union using a simple online form. 

  • Help and support

    The Advice Centre is where you’ll find a listening ear and experienced, trained staff offering specialist advice. It’s also free, confidential and totally independent. Our advisers can support students with advice on a range of topics including:

    • debt and money
    • funding
    • accommodation
    • academic issues
    • physical and mental health
    • students with children
