Undergraduate research showcase

More than 400 students welcomed to Manchester Met

MANCHESTER Metropolitan University will this week host the prestigious British Conference of Undergraduate Research (BCUR).

The BCUR is an annual showcase of the best undergraduate research with students across all levels invited to submit papers, posters, workshops and performances.

This year at Manchester Met, more than 400 students are expected from universities across the country and from as far afield as the USA and the Philippines.

BCUR is a multidisciplinary conference and the range of topics is both extraordinary and exciting. It runs from March 22 to 23 in the Business School.

As part of the conference, there are a number of lunchtime seminar sessions led by staff from universities and external organisations designed to promote discussion about how to encourage undergraduate research.

The conference is similar to any other academic conference with spoken papers, lectures, poster presentations and workshops but each one will be delivered by undergraduate students presenting work they have done either as part of their course or as part of an internship. Abstracts are peer-reviewed and those accepted are invited to attend the conference.

As part of the conference, seminars will be held in the Business School. See here for more information on BCUR.
