Why you should study abroad

Studying abroad is an opportunity of a lifetime that can in turn enhance your employability. You’ll learn to adapt to new situations, develop new skills and experience life in another country. It adds impressive depth to your CV that can help you stand out in a competitive job market.

Here are some more reasons why you should study abroad:

  • you could learn another language. This is one of the great opportunities of studying in a new country, even if you aren’t studying languages.
  • there are plenty of countries where classes are taught in English. This means you have lots of options, even if you don’t want to learn a new language.
  • we cover your tuition fees if you study at one of our partner universities
  • some countries have lower living costs than the UK and funding may be available, for example through government travel grants.
  • we’ll give you expert support at all stages, from planning to when you are there. There’s not much we haven’t dealt with before so you can be confident of reliable, practical support.
  • it’s never been easier to stay in touch with your nearest and dearest, whether that’s through phone calls, messaging groups, video chats or trips home for the holidays
  • most exchange students forge great new friendships while abroad, not least through the orientation programmes and support available at their host university
  • you’ll have the opportunity to try new things and find new favourite foods and drinks. We really love hearing from returning students about the new tastes they have acquired.

Spending a year at Stockholm University as part of the European exchange programme was incredible. It broadened my horizons, challenged me and gave me new academic and life skills. I hugely recommend going on an exchange. You won't regret it.
