Philippa Anderson

Philippa is deputy chair of leading environmental charity Keep Britain Tidy, strategic communications consultant, and business author. She is a business graduate of Manchester Metropolitan University. 

Philippa grew up in Lancashire and, after completing her degree at Manchester Met, began her career in public relations/marketing with London agencies. She worked in Southeast Asia as a freelance writer. On return to the UK, she set up a strategic communications consultancy with corporate clients such as 3M, Barclays, Coca-Cola, Marks & Spencer, and Tesco working on employee communications, change management programmes, and corporate responsibility initiatives. She has written and contributed to business books, including Management in Minutes published by Quercus, Beyond Business published by Weidenfeld & Nicolson, and The Business Book and How Management Works published by Dorling Kindersley.

Passionate about sustainability and the environment, Philippa is involved in Keep Britain Tidy campaigns to eliminate waste, end litter, and improve places.

She has held voluntary roles including Speak Out representative for Save the Children, trustee for SeeAbility, and English teacher in Southeast Asia refugee camps for the United Nations High Commission for Refugees (UNHCR). She is a member of the Society of Authors.

Philippa joined the Board of Governors on 29 March 2021 and is a member of the People, Finance and Resources Committee and Remuneration Committee.
