Sean Anstee CBE

Sean is an experienced strategist and adviser with an extensive background in regional and local government, having held senior positions at a local authority, regional combined authority, and the Local Government Association.

Previously Leader of Trafford Council for four years, Sean played a crucial role in securing the agreement to devolve significant powers to the city region, leading political negotiations with officials and Ministers in HM Treasury and across other government departments.

A former senior member of the Greater Manchester Combined Authority, Sean has advised on and overseen, the successful delivery of major infrastructure and development projects across the UK. He provides strategic advice to on all aspects of regional and local government with specialisms in infrastructure, housing, education, and finance.

Sean is a Non-Executive Director of Fortior Homes, a wholly owned development company of the City of Stoke on Trent. 

Sean graduated with First Class Honours in Business Management in July 2013 from Manchester Metropolitan University and was awarded a CBE for services to Local Government in the 2019 New Year’s Honours.

Sean joined the Board in December 2019 and became Deputy Chair in August 2023. He is also the Chair of the Remuneration Committee and a member of the Nominations and Governance and the People, Finance and Resources Committee.
