Manchester Met uses a specialist provider, Healthwork Ltd., to complete the required occupational health checks for students on relevant courses.

Notice of disclosure of your personal data to Healthwork Ltd

This privacy notice information is provided in addition to our Student Applicants Privacy Notice and main Student Privacy Notice.

The University utilises the services of Healthwork Ltd to provide pre-course occupational health checks and services on our behalf. We have a contract in place with our provider which gives us data protection, confidentiality and information security assurances. The services provided include: fitness for work assessments, health surveillance assessments, pre-placement health assessments, pre-training screening, health screening and immunisation screening. As an applicant/student required to conduct a mandatory professional placement, these assessments are a necessity.

As such, the University will transfer the following information to Healthwork Ltd, in order for them to make contact with you to arrange for the completion of your occupational health check: name, date of birth, student number, address, e-mail address, telephone number and course information. In order to make this disclosure of your personal data we rely upon the General Data Protection Regulation Article 6(1)b contract lawful basis. Our terms and conditions document specific requirements for professional programmes, including the need for occupational health checks. The disclosure will take place by secure means in due course.
